Q. Do I need to accompany my baby during the session

A: Babies must be accompanied and supervised by at least one adult at all times during the sessions. This is to help strengthen the bond between baby and parent and to boost their confidence during the sessions.

Q. What is the duration of each session

A: For first timers, the Water-Training session is limited to around 20 minutes to prevent over-fatigue. Subsequently, the session can be a bit longer and longer depending on your baby’s endurance. Approximately overall session may take 1 hour.

Q. How will babies benefit from the Water-Training sessions

A: Physical Development – Your baby’s heart, lungs, and muscles will be exercised in the warm-water Jacuzzi. This strengthens your baby’s immune system to not easily get sick.

IQ Development – Your baby’s mental ability will be sharpened during the training whereby warm-water pressure stimulates the nervous system and the brain.

EQ Development – Emotional intelligence will be enhanced through the interaction with other babies in the pool.

Q. What do I need to prepare for the session

A: Make sure your baby has enough sleep and feed at least 30 minutes before the session. Bring your own towel, extra diapers. Your baby may be very hungry during or near the end of the session. Please plan for this whether you are nursing or using bottles. We are a breastfeeding friendly facility and have a bottle warmer for your convenience. If your baby uses a pacifier, please be sure to pack that as well. Sometimes our little friends enjoy using them while floating. One disposable swim diaper and neck float will be provided.

Q. Are your staff certified and proficient in handling babies

A: All of our staff are well-trained and most have years of personal experience in training babies.

Q. How many babies are in the pool during the session

A: The small pool is for a single baby, while the big pool is for 3 to 4 babies.

Q. It’s my first time coming to Osmolyte BabySPA. How do I go about it

A: We recommend your baby to try first. If you think our services are good and beneficial to your baby, you may sign up for a package and you will save quite a lot.

Q. What is the temperature of the water and do you use any chemicals

A: The water temperature is set between 34°C and 37°C which is best suited for babies’ delicate skin. We do not use any chemical whatsoever in our water and it is free from chlorine.

Q. Do you change the water after the session

A: We change the water in the small pool and sanitize the tub/equipment after every session. The big pool has an internal filtration system to keep the water clean.

Q. What is the difference between going to your branch and having my own 5 Layer Pool at home

A: In the branch, everything is taken care of by our staff during the session from preparing the water and equipment as well as training your baby. At home, you have to make sure the 5 Layer Pool is fully inflated and warm water is gradually added to cold water to ensure you set the right temperature for your baby. The process at home can be tedious without experience in training babies in water. Furthermore, your baby will be water-training alone at home.

Q. Can I buy a session for my friend

A: Yes, you may purchase Osmolyte BabySPA Gift Vouchers at the branch and on our website as a gift for your friend.

Q. What if my child cries during the session

A: Babies will cry during the session if they are hungry or sleepy. Please make sure your baby is fed at least 30 minutes before the session and is well-rested so they will have enough energy and enjoy the session. Meanwhile, it is our goal and duty to train your baby’s confidence in the water.

Q. How long will it take for my baby to gain the benefits of the session

A: Benefits to physical and mental development are gained starting from the first session as their body and mind is exercised. Baby’s vision will become more active and their attentiveness will be heightened after 5 continuous sessions.

Q. Is there any promotion available

A: Promotions are posted on our website (www.osmolyte.com). You may also call us for inquiries.

Q. I can't find answers to my questions

A: Promotions are posted on our website (www.osmolyte.com). You may also call us for inquiries.

Q. Do I have to get in the water? What do I wear?

A: No. Some parents dress in layers, as the room can be on the warm side for the babies. Dress for comfort as you will be leaning over a tub playing with your water baby and sitting on the mat while giving your baby a massage.

Q. Can I bring a guest?

A: Yes! We encourage you to bring your spouse, a family member, or a friend. Because our space is small and we like to keep a calm environment for the babies, we ask that you limit it to ONE (1) adult guest per baby (twins please limit to a total of 1 guest also) only.

Q. Are my other children allowed to come and watch?

A: Private sessions may be scheduled if siblings would like to attend, (or if your entire extended family is in town and wants to tag along!) This allows you the opportunity to teach your older child/children how to massage the baby’s feet in a one on one setting. Group sessions do not allow for older children to attend. You will be asked to reschedule your appointment without an account credit if one of your guests is under 12 years of age. Read more of the Rules here.

Q. How many babies are in one class at a time?

A: We limit our classes to 3 babies (exception: families with twins count as “1”). This allows us to maintain a serene environment for the babies and gives the parents an intimate setting to share tips, tricks and tribulations.

Q. Will my baby float with other babies?

A: No. Individual tubs are sanitized after each baby, which is especially ideal for younger babies still needing immunizations.

Q. What if my baby wakes up sick on the day of our Float Baby session?

A: We want you AND your baby to be well during a visit. Our cancellation policy is 6 hours in advance. We understand that babies (or mommies) may wake up under the weather, however late cancelations prevent others from being able to participate. In the case of a late cancellation, rescheduling, refunds and credits will not be given. Early cancellations will receive an account credit to reschedule at a later date.

Q. What’s the age limit and how often do you recommend attending?

A: We want to see your baby AT LEAST once per week (some parents come twice), as soon as the umbilical cord has fallen off. If you have been bringing your baby on a regular basis, you will be able to successfully stay in the program until your baby is at least 6 months and possibly beyond. We will let you know when your baby is getting close to graduating. You may NOT begin the program if your baby is beyond 6 months of age without prior approval. We do have clients who are older than 6 months but we prefer to speak with you in advance to ensure your visit is enjoyable for both you and your baby. To gain the full benefits of brain, physical and emotional development, it is very important that you routinely attend.

Q. My baby hasn’t been born yet. How far in advance should I schedule?

A: We recommend that you book now, setting your appointment for one month beyond your due date. This will ensure that you have reserved your space and it can always be moved accordingly after your baby has arrived.

Q. What should I expect after a session?

A: Eating, Sleeping, Poo-ing! These are the top 3 results that mommies experience and report back to us. Most babies are very hungry after floating. There is time for you to feed your baby between water and massage. This allows your baby to leave relaxed and ready for the next nap time. Many report that bowel movements are achieved with our tummy massage instruction and are happy to relieve this discomfort for their babies. Additionally, babies may sleep 3-5 hours the afternoon of a Float and very well that evening.

Q. Do you sell the floatation devices?

A: We only offer our custom float. Our floatation devices are sized by our staff during each session to safely fit your growing baby. Babies usually start with our preemie size and graduate out of our large size. We feel strongly about the safest fit possible and for this reason we only allow for the Float Baby device to be used in approved stores under direct staff supervision.
